Jinko Tiger Neo panels

The panel we fit on most Cyprus roofs. Not because it has the highest number on the datasheet, but because of how it behaves on a hot roof in August.

N-type cells hold their output in heat

Every panel loses output as it heats, and the rate of loss is the temperature coefficient. N-type cells lose less than the older P-type design, a difference that is academic in northern Europe and material on an island that spends four months above 30°C.

That coefficient matters more here than the rated wattage, because the rated wattage is measured at 25°C and your roof will almost never be at 25°C when it counts.

The warranty has a company behind it

Jinko is one of the largest panel manufacturers in the world by volume. That is not a quality argument on its own. Plenty of large manufacturers make ordinary products. A 30-year performance warranty is only worth what the company issuing it is worth in year 30.

For a component you cannot replace without scaffolding, that is a substantial part of what you are buying.

  • 30-year performance warranty
  • Lower output loss per degree than conventional P-type panels
  • Manufactured at a scale that makes the warranty credible

When we would not recommend it

If your usable roof area is the binding constraint, a small or awkward roof where every square metre has to work harder, the AIKO panel produces more from the same space and is usually the better answer despite costing more.

We will say so during the assessment. Which panel suits a roof is a design decision, not a preference.

Which panel suits your roof?

It depends on the area you have, the shading and what you are trying to cover. The assessment answers it with your roof in front of us.
