Cookie policy
Last updated 14 August 2026
This covers cookies and anything else kept on your device while you use northwatt.cy. The short version is that there is very little of it, and nothing that follows you anywhere else.
1. What we set today
Nothing that needs your permission. The site does not use analytics yet, it carries no advertising, and there are no third-party trackers on it.
Two things are stored, both because you asked for something that requires it. One remembers your answer to the banner, so we do not ask again and so a refusal is honoured. The other is set by the service that filters malicious traffic in front of the site.
2. What that is, exactly
northwatt.consent
- What it does
- Remembers your answer to the cookie banner. Stored by this site, in your browser rather than as a cookie, so it is never sent to a server.
- How long
- Until you clear it
__cf_bm
- What it does
- Set by Cloudflare, which sits in front of this site and tells real visitors apart from automated traffic. Necessary for the site to stay available.
- How long
- 30 minutes
3. What would run if you agreed
We intend to add measurement and advertising, and we would rather tell you what that means before you are asked than after. Nothing below is on this site today. Each one goes in only once it is built, and only for visitors who have agreed to that category.
Only if you agree, and not yet
Google Analytics
- What it does
- Counts visits and shows which pages are read and where people leave. Sets its own cookies and shares data with Google, a company established in the United States.
- How long
- Up to 2 years
Meta pixel
- What it does
- Tells us which advertisement on Facebook or Instagram led to an enquiry. Sets its own cookies and shares data with Meta, a company established in the United States.
- How long
- Up to 3 months
None of these is on this site today. They are named here so that agreeing is a decision about something specific rather than about a word on a banner.
4. Why we would like to
Analytics tells us which pages are read and where people give up, which is how a page like this one gets shorter and clearer over time. Advertising measurement tells us which advertisement led to an enquiry, so we spend on the ones that work rather than on all of them.
Neither is necessary for you. Refusing costs you nothing here: every page works the same, the funnel works the same, and we do not ask again on the next visit.
5. Changing your answer
Use the button below, or the cookie link in the footer of any page. Refusing is one press and always has been: the banner puts accepting and refusing side by side, at the same size, on the same screen.
Withdrawing takes effect immediately. Anything already collected before you withdrew stays collected, which is why the banner asks before rather than after.
You can also clear this site's storage in your browser settings, which has the same effect and means the banner will ask again.
6. More
What we do with the details you send through the forms, including the marketing email we intend to offer, is covered in the privacy policy.
