Solar for agricultural sites

Irrigation, pumping and cold storage are heavy, predictable loads, and most of them run in daylight. That makes agricultural sites some of the best matches for solar in Cyprus.

Irrigation runs with the sun

Pumping in daylight means you use your own production directly, which is worth more than exporting it.

Cold storage and continuous loads

Where refrigeration runs around the clock, we look at whether storage carries the evening load or whether the grid does it more cheaply.

Barn roofs and ground space

Agricultural buildings offer large uninterrupted roofs. We assess structure, access and the practical route back to your supply.

What we look at on an agricultural survey

Pump and irrigation schedules, refrigeration loads, building structure and roof span, distance from the panels to the supply, and how consumption shifts across the growing season.

From first meeting to switch-on

You see the whole route before you commit to anything.

  1. 1

    Get in touch

Leave your details and we call to book a visit at a time that suits you.

  2. 2

    We meet

We look at your roof and your consumption, then design to it. You get a quote.

  3. 3

    We coordinate everything

Paperwork, EAC, installation, inspection. One point of contact throughout.

  4. 4

    Support

The system is yours. One team stays with it for as long as it runs.

Questions we get asked first

How long does the whole process take?

It depends on the property and on how quickly approvals come back. We give you an expected timeline in writing with your quote, and we tell you as soon as anything moves.

Do I need a battery straight away?

No. Many sites start with panels only. We plan the system so a battery can be added later without rewiring, and we show you the numbers for both options so you can decide.

Who handles the paperwork and approvals?

We coordinate them. The EAC application and the approvals are prepared and submitted through the appropriate licensed specialists, and NorthWatt is responsible for making sure they progress. You deal with us rather than with each party separately.

What happens after the system is switched on?

You receive the documentation for your system and a named contact at NorthWatt. If something needs attention later, you come back to us and we arrange it with the right specialist.

Who actually carries out the installation?

NorthWatt designs the system, owns the project and stays your point of contact. The installation and the regulated electrical work are carried out by qualified specialists we select and coordinate. You are not asked to manage them.

Will the panels cope with a Cyprus summer?

Heat reduces panel output, so we account for it when we size the system rather than quoting a best-case number. Equipment is chosen for high-temperature performance and for being serviceable on the island.

Start with your own numbers

Answer a few questions about your electricity use, property and roof. We will use the information to prepare a more relevant first assessment before contacting you.

It takes around two minutes. Nothing is decided until you have reviewed the proposed solution.
